Avert is 3 and a half years old and was born with Opitz Syndrome. He had many difficulties in different areas the first years of his life and after addressing these challenges his family started to notice that he was not responding to them when the said his name or when they were talking to him. Testing indicated that Avery had severe hearing loss in both ears and needed hearing aids.
Avery’s father reported that the first time Avery put in hearing aids and his father talked to him, his face lit up with a smile. Dad reports that this was a tearful moment that he will always remember. He stated, “sometimes the simplest things in everyday like, like being able to hear, we can easily take for granted.” They are very thankful and hope in the future to be able to give back to help other children that are in need of hearing aids. The family says, "Thank you so much for all your help and May God bless you all.”
Thanks to Sibley Chapter for allowing the use of their facilities and participating in the award presentation.
